After many years of designing and restoring stained glass in a studio in Stoke on Trent my focus is now on sustainability and the re-use of salvaged glass. By repurposing antique glass, I can make bespoke art pieces that can bring the beauty of stained glass into any home across Staffordshire and beyond.

Using traditional methods, stunning results can be achieved to create truly unique stained glass. Glass is hand cut and polished, then often layered with painted stain and enamels before being kiln fired. Next copper foil is wrapped around each section before being soldered with lead to piece together the stained glass. Finally, the glass is then cleaned, polished and patina applied to ‘age’ the lead.

I now have a home studio near Barlaston where I work whilst caring for my mum and family. My obsession with saving and salvaging damaged old leaded lights means I have a collection of beautiful old glass, including Victorian and 1920s/30s glass, to use in my designs. I try to use every little bit, using small ‘scraps’ of saved glass to make flowers and small gift items. If glass has lasted a hundred years so far, I just can’t throw it away!
