Kate Dawes works from her countryside studio on the Staffordshire / Derbyshire border creating bold botanical prints.
Kate has spent her career in the creative and photographic industries.
She produces pen & ink and watercolours, and she has recently been busy creating these contemporary botanical wall art pieces.
This work is a hybrid of art and photography, combining photo imagery with artistic skills using watercolours, acrylics, and sometimes Caran D’Ache pencils and pen. The images emphasise the natural beauty of botanicals and florals to create bold graphic work. She concentrates on capturing the strong lines, structures and jewel shades of a variety of flowers and foliage.

Kate draws inspiration from local country gardens and wildflower meadows. Her influences are wide ranging from Georgia O’Keefe to the Dutch Masters flower painters.
