Ian Tinsley makes wonderfully quirky and original one-off sculptured figures. Each is hand- made, hand-decorated, glazed and sculpted by Ian in his studio space withing the Victorian buildings at Moorland Pottery in Burslem.

All of the unique pieces, which relate to the identity of the potteries are signed by Ian, all are made in the echo of the historic pottery which was home to the likes of Susie Cooper as well as the extremely popular Stokie-ware range introduced by Moorland Pottery since 2010

Ian says “I have lived and worked in Stoke on Trent all my life. I have been working with clay for the last 28 years or so.
I work from my own studio, where the current factory owners have very kindly provided me with an authentic late 19th century garrote, complete with a ghost of a long since expired Saggar Maker for company.”
