Claire trained at Bradford School of Art whilst living in West Yorkshire before moving to Buxton and began to paint the sheep she had encountered during many visits to Cumbria, staying and working on her friend’s traditional fell farm. She works to capture their colour, beauty and strength of character, and has gained a respect for the tough and intelligent sheep which are an integral part of the fells they graze.
